The close connection between domestic systemic change and foreign policy goals becomes particularly clear with regard to today's Turkey. For the dynamics of Turkish foreign policy can only be understood without a closer look at its diverse, sometimes irritating, and in any case not readily comprehensible actions, volte-face and changes of course in the interplay of domestic political state restructuring, increasing Islamization and the geopolitical repositioning of the country.
