At the DAAD policy talk, which took place on 18 October 2023, experts Anke Reiffenstuel, Prof. Dr Thilo Marauhn and Prof. Dr Ulrich Schlie discussed how German academic institutions should respond to the national security strategy and what implications this has for international academic cooperation. In particular, the debate centred on the role that science, in the form of scientific actors and universities, can and should play in the new German security architecture. Important potential can arise from the interaction between the two areas.
