Prof. Joachim Weber spoke in an interview about the statements made by Donald Trump, who referred to Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a 'dictator without elections.' Weber explained that Trump’s viewpoint might be influenced by personal differences with Zelenskyy and the geopolitical context. Trump had already repeatedly expressed negative opinions about the Ukrainian president during his time in office, which indicates a fundamentally difficult relationship. Furthermore, Weber emphasized that such statements highlight the complexity of the Ukrainian conflict and the challenges of Western support. In this context, Weber underscored the importance of Europe continuing to rely on NATO and U.S. support to safeguard its security interests. If this support were to diminish, it could have serious consequences for European stability.
