Weber agrees with a statement by the former head of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen, that the Russian dictator probably considers Europeans to be "wimps". Although Russia is unlikely to be in a position to directly invade Europe in the near future, European governments must be prepared and significantly intensify their defense policy efforts.
