CASSIS Fellow Dr. Joachim Weber has observed increasing Russian military dominance since the turn of the year. In the first months of 2024, the Russians attacked over 15 front sections with great pressure and achieved deep breaches in the Ukrainian defense lines. They were particularly successful in Avdiivka. This assessment by Dr. Weber is the most pessimistic of the three expert surveys presented and leaves little hope for the future of Ukraine.
