In Paris, expectations of the future Chancellor Merz are particularly high. Dr. Landry Charrier, an expert on Franco-German relations, sheds light on the current situation from the French perspective.
Dr. habil. Landry Charrier2 studied at the universities of Nantes and Düsseldorf. Between 2007 and 2017, he taught at the German Department of the University of Clermont Auvergne as Associate Professor of Franco-German Relations. From 2017 to 2022, he worked for the French cultural network abroad on behalf of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. After working in Bonn as head of the Institut français and university attaché, he worked in The Hague as attaché for scientific and university cooperation. He now works as a scientific advisor for the DLR Project Management Agency in Bonn (European and bilateral cooperation).
