Despite the ban on Russian gas imports, EU countries are purchasing LNG from Russia - even more than before the war. The liquefied natural gas is also reaching Germany via detours. Bonn-based energy policy expert Frank Umbach explains how this came about and warns that if the German government remains inactive, it will undermine its political credibility.
