Strategischer Regenwaldschutz: Globale Verantwortung und lokale Wirtschaftsinteressen

October 24, 2023 | 4:00 - 5:30 pm Uhr | Online via Zoom

Fourth event of the digital dialogue series "Strategic management of climate change in Latin America".

Latin America's rainforests are a global asset and need to be protected for the sake of the planet's environment. To achieve this, it is important to consider how sustainable practices and incentives can be used to reduce the environmental impacts of activities that cause deforestation and degradation of the rainforest. Additionally, international organizations must be involved in protecting the rainforest and ensuring that local communities are not adversely affected. By doing so, we can help to ensure that the rainforest remains a valuable asset for future generations. Some of the key questions we will address are: What are the key measures to reduce carbon emissions for rainforest protection in Latin America? What role can international organizations play in advocating for rainforest protection and providing support for local communities? How can sustainable forestry management and ecotourism be used to generate economic benefits while protecting the rainforest?
