Simon Wunder is responsible for the management of geopolitical risks at Volkswagen AG. Previously, he held senior positions in crisis and security management at international companies in the banking, retail and industrial sectors. He has also worked in civilian and military roles as an analyst responsible for crises and conflicts in Central Asia, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, where he served in several foreign assignments.

Mr. Wunder is a political scientist, a lecturer for methods of strategic analysis at the University of Hamburg and Research Fellow at the Institute for Intelligence and Security Management (I2SM) at the NBS Northern Business School. In a previous teaching position, he was a lecturer at the Counterinsurgency Training Center-Afghanistan (CTC-A).
