Profile
Ryan Swan is a Fellow at the International Centre for Conflict Research in Bonn (bicc). For his doctoral project, he received a scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Foundation's Special Programme on Security, Society and the State. He holds an M.Phil. in International Relations and Politics from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law.

Doctoral project
Ryan Swan's dissertation examines the strategic effect of emerging military technologies on deterrence dynamics with a particular focus on US-China relations. His research specifically focuses on the relationship between capability advancement and subjective perceptions of credibility.
