Gordan Akrap is a lecturer at several universities in Croatia and abroad. The studies and subjects he teaches are closely related to hybrid, modern and emerging security challenges, national and international security, intelligence, international relations. He graduated at Zagreb Faculty of electronics and computing in 1994. In 2011 he received a PhD at the University of Zagreb, in the field of Information and Communication sciences. The title of his PhD was "Informational strategies and operations in public knowledge shaping". During his career in diplomatic and intelligence structures of Croatia he completed a number of professional courses, including Diplomatic Academy. He is active in research of national and regional security, intelligence, and history of Homeland War. He works as part of the international NATO SAS 161 project "Military Aspects of Countering Hybrid War: Experience, Lessons, Best Practices". Akrap published several books, and papers in journals and proceedings. He is editor-in-chief of the National Security and the Future journal. He is founder and president of the Hybrid Warfare Research Institute and the Zagreb Security Forum. Furthermore Gordan Akrap is a member (second term) of the Council for Civilian Oversight of Security and intelligence Agencies in Croatia, elected by huge majority in Croatian Parliament. Also he is a member of the board of International Intelligence History Association.
