The attempted coup d'état and assassination of Hitler on 20 July 1944 are as topical today as they have rarely been before. Sophie Freifrau von Bechtolsheim, Count Stauffenberg's granddaughter, and Ulrich Schlie, together with the officer candidates and the invited guests at the military police school in Hanover, recall the legacy of 20 July and its significance for the present.
