In the interview, Dr Landry Charrier looks in particular at the possible motivations and motives of the political right and left to topple the government and also to persuade French President Macron to resign. Charrier describes the current situation in France as a ‘real government crisis’. De facto, France is currently not fit to govern. In addition, France has ‘lived beyond its means’ in terms of fiscal policy in recent decades and is now facing an enormous debt burden, Charrier continued. The France expert Charrier also addresses the question of how strong the French population's trust in President Macron is and what the current situation means for Europe.
