This event will be held in German.

Globalization, migration and identity politics are shaping Germany and posing unimagined challenges to the political system. How can a democratic constitution contain the social and political centrifugal forces of a multiethnic society without betraying the liberal idea? In his new nonfiction book, renowned political scientist Yascha Mounk not only shows the obstacles that the experiment of a diverse society encounters. He also provides the instructions for an intact multiethnic democracy. With clear-sightedness and analytical acuity, he addresses the arguments coming from both the right and the left: a groundbreaking defense of pluralistic principles. For never has it been more important than today to reflect on the balance between equality and individual freedom.
