We look back with pleasure on the lecture series ‘Maritime Challenges of the 21st Century’. How can conflicts be avoided when humanity's increasing consumption of resources encounters the limited space of the world's oceans? Struggles over the distribution of scarce resources also jeopardise peace on the oceans. We were able to discuss the specific challenges arising from these situations for the international community in ten exciting events. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the speakers who enriched the lecture series with stimulating topics.
